Why may individual Aleppo soaps vary slightly in weight?
NAJEL declares this product at a nominal content of 150g (5.3oz). Traditional Aleppo soap making includes an extended drying stage. UNESCO's official record of Aleppo Ghar soap craftsmanship states that the soaps are stacked to allow airflow and traditionally dried for approximately six to nine months.
For cosmetics marketed in the European Union, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 defines the labeled quantity as the nominal content at the time of packaging. EU Directive 76/211/EEC separately defines nominal quantity and actual contents and, where the Directive applies, sets rules governing variation in qualifying prepackages, rather than requiring every individual unit to have an identical measured weight.
Taken together, these established production and labeling principles provide context for why individual traditional solid soaps may show slight differences in weight. The 150g shown on the packaging remains NAJEL's declared nominal content.

How should I store this Aleppo soap?
